Born a singer and song-writer, poems were my first literary love and object of obsession in my literary studies. No matter how much I idolize rugged, intellectual free verse, rhythm and rhyme cheat their way into my poetry.
A fairytale about childhood trauma, “The one who didn’t get away” tells the story of the impact a shattered vase and absent parent have on a peculiar protagonist. Published first in the Women Writing Berlin Lab publication Movement in 2019, it was re-edited for this publication.
Everybody has a story to tell. That is why I love to portray people that have inspired me personally and tell their stories. Read about the art of fearlessness, the harsh female realities of C-level management, growing up LGBTQ+ in conservative Italy and more.
My brainchild 20 in 21 was birthed in less than a month and is a self published collection of poems.
Topics such as imposter syndrome, mental health, racism and self empowerment rotate through the spotlight in quick succession. The contemporary Zeitgeist is contrasted by traditional form elements such as rhythm and rhyme.
